American musician, singer-songwriter and guitarist, she appeared at the 1990 International Tribute for a Free South Africa. In the Seventies she released a series of albums that mixed blues, folk, rock and country influences, and she enjoyed her first commercial success with Runaway from the Sweet Forgiveness album. As a musical activist, she was involved in the 1979 MUSE (Musicians United for Safe Energy) concerts in New York, which led to a 3-record gold album and the feature film, No Nukes. In the Eighties she sang on, and appeared in the video for, Steve Van Zandt’s Sun City, and also took part in Farm Aid and Amnesty International benefit concerts.
